LEGIOLAB was created to develop automated technology to be implemented remotely in large and medium-sized refrigeration circuits. The system will have the capacity to automatically perform samplings to detect Legionella spp. in drinking, natural and industrial water. The project began initially focussed on refrigeration towers, one of the main legionella foci, although it can be extrapolated to other environments and installations that are at risk. It will be capable of detecting and, depending on whether the bacteria is present or not, deciding on the actions for its total elimination in a fully automatic manner and without having to bring the system to a halt.
